Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is a famous Indian actress who achieved fame for her role in Hum Aapke hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She started her career in 1990s. Her role as Anil Kapoor in the Tezaab film was a huge hit and made her extremely popular. She then acted alongside Aamir in Dil. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance at an early age. She began acting when she was young and struggled through a few years as most the films she made were flops. Her career eventually took off and she went on to become one of the top actresses in the Indian film industry. She took a hiatus from her acting career after her marriage, but returned into the entertainment business. Dixit played an important role in Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times at the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of the awards. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her contribution to the social industry is widely known.
